Continuing the Conversation on Disabilities and the Faith Community.
Greetings! I am Chaplain Richard (Rich) Hoffman and I serve as Director of Pastoral Care at Saratoga Hospital, Saratoga Springs, NY, USA. Learned about this web site while doing a google search on the late Nancy Eisland. I have left side spastic hemiplegia since birth and, while outwardly mild, the condition impacts every moment of my life. As a Christian minister I often muse on the “imageo dei” and disabilities in human beings.
Thanks Rich! Glad you stopped by. Imago Dei is such a fascinating but often-misused concept. We know that we are created in God’s image, but then we often think about God in terms of our own images! Sometime I’d love to hear your thoughts on it all.
