Neil Cudney explores the importance of thoughtful action in seeking justice, starting with learning and seeking before rushing to fight. He highlights the need for humility and grace when defending and helping others. The post reflects on how we depend on God’s guidance in working for justice.

WORD:

“Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows. (Isaiah 1:17, NLT)

THOUGHT:

This verse is filled with action: Learn. Seek. Help. Defend. Fight. The progression of these actions is significant.  Too often, to fight is our first response. We must always humbly “learn” and “seek” before we move to help, defend or fight for others with grace and truth.

PRAYER:

Teach us, Lord, to know Your “right.”  May we seek You, and hear from You, how to help, defend and fight for others. You O Lord are our help, defense, and victory. May we join You in your work today.
