Peace.

Peace is one of the most profound gifts you can receive—peace for your soul, even in life’s storms. Imagine experiencing calm that transcends understanding, even in the chaos. That’s the promise of peace through Christ, available to you today.

A Step Towards the Gift of Peace

If you’re searching for peace, start by listening to “In the Eye of the Storm” by Ryan Stevenson—a prayer in song form that has brought me to tears more times than I can count. Then, when you’re ready to immerse yourself in God’s love, visit Father’s Love Letter, a video that feels like a personal letter from God Himself. Bring tissues—you’ll need them.

“God’s promise of peace is not abstract. It’s an invitation to experience His care and presence in every moment.”

God, in His infinite love, desires to adopt you and bestow His peace upon you. Peace, as defined by Oxford, is both “a state of tranquility and freedom from disturbance. It’s the absence of conflict, but it’s also the presence of deep, abiding calm”—something we all seek in our busy, often overwhelming lives.

God’s promise of peace is not abstract. It’s an invitation to experience His care and presence in every moment. As Philippians 4:7 (NLT) beautifully reminds us:

“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

The Gift of Peace in the Everyday Chaos

Life often feels overwhelming. As a caregiver in Canada navigating endless appointments, hospital stays, and unexpected emergencies, I understand this deeply. Just this week, I dealt with a burst pipe, rescheduled assessments for my son Emmanuel, and cleaned up shattered glass from a broken bathroom mirror. The day’s to-do list is loud and demanding.

But amid the everyday chaos, I hold onto peace. It’s a peace that comes from knowing that God is with me, in every circumstance.

This peace isn’t something I’ve conjured on my own.

I urge you to go to His Word. Say the sinner’s prayer (a simple and powerful prayer you can find online) and begin a conversation with God. I’ve done this myself—prayed, read the Bible, and allowed God’s truth to open my eyes and lift my burdens. Through prayer, His Word, and the people around me, I experience God’s presence and peace. The gift of Jesus is real, and it’s available to everyone. Open it.

“…amid the everyday chaos, I hold onto peace. It’s a peace that comes from knowing that God is with me, in every circumstance.”

I’m reminded of the birth of my first son, Emmanuel. There were so many external challenges—so much out of my control. But inwardly, I experienced a calm that can only be described as peace. Even in the storm, there was peace.

When storms rage, I cling to Jesus’ words in Mark 4:39: “Peace, be still.” Just as He calmed the wind and sea, He brings calm to my heart, even as I face the uncertainty of my son’s health. His peace is my compass, guiding me through fear and showing me how to live with purpose.

The Gift of Peace – The Prince of Peace

In Scripture, Isaiah prophesizes the coming of Jesus, calling him the Prince of Peace:

“For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6, NLT)

Peace is the gift that allows us to live fearlessly, with purpose and hope. It’s peace that sustains us through life’s trials, peace that transcends understanding. No matter what’s happening around you, know that peace is yours on the inside, through Christ.

“This Advent, don’t let peace remain an abstract concept.”

Jesus tells his disciples:

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27, NLT)

A Blessing of Peace

I leave you with a Christmas card message I’ve been holding onto:

Peace, in our lives, in our homes, in our hearts. In this busy season, may peace be the gift Jesus brings to you when you need it most.”

This Advent, don’t let peace remain an abstract concept. Seek it, accept it, and live it. Take a moment today to pray and ask Jesus to bring His peace into your life.

Merry Christmas.

“Grace and Peace to you from God our Father and The Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:2, NLT).

With love,
